The program for the VII Annual International ASPO Conference in Barcelona is completed.

During the two-day conference we will have the opportunity to approach the problem of peak oil from two points of view. The geological point of view (below ground) and the 'above ground' point of view: geopolitical, technological and economic . The difference between these two outlooks recognises that although it is geology that will ultimately determine the future of the extraction of oil and other hydrocarbons, the impact of geopolitics and the economic influence on demand, as well as technological developments, will be powerful factors in shaping the transition to other energy systems.
