New features for EB

by Staff

We would like to draw your attention to some minor improvements which we have made to EB. The changes were inspired by our survey of readers at the end of last year and have just been implemented as part of our updates cycle. We hope that they improve your experience of the site.

  • We have added a ratings module which allows you to let us know which posts you like. We have opened the ratings feature to members of our community. To join, create register and be log in.
  • For those who find that there is just too much to read, we have added editor's picks. We will be tagging articles which any one of the editors views as a 'must read'. The latest picks appear in the left-margin—for an extended view click 'more'.
  • To make it easier to view older content we have extended our featured content dropdown lists. You can now view the content of authors or publishers you like from a handy page view. Content also remains tagged by news category. For more info on searches see our start here page.
  • We have switched to more explicit urls. For archived content the old energybulletin.net/node/xxxx will autodirect to the new url. This change will improve the effectiveness of searches.
  • You can now see the number of reads per article. This is only tracking reads from mid July onward, so for older articles it doesn't reflect how often they have been viewed.
  • The Printer-friendly version has now been fixed to show author and publisher.
  • But mostly, per the overwhelming number of survey responses, we have left the site the same!
